Title: Electrical Problem
Post by: arlbrl on September 15, 2006, 11:06:00 am
My 85 C-10 was running fine, after switching a 1990 engine tranny and electrical harness into it, went out couple hours later, truck won't start. It cranks over, but the fuel pump isn't running, and the headlights, interior lights, and horn are also inop. Everything else works, including power windows and locks. No fuses are blown, can't find any shorts. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Well if the only component not operating is the fuel pump then check to see if you have B + @ the fuel pump while cranking. If you do and have a good ground then you have a bad fuel pump or an open between the harness connector and the fuel pump
