Title: what are these hoses for?

these two, i know where they go, but are they needed? i took out the heater box (i think that's what it is?) so can i plug these, run them together...or what do i have to do?

Are you talking about your heater hoses? If you take them out you have no heat.

Those arer your heater hoses for heater core inside cab. If you don't care about heat during the winter months, then take them out. One goes to the radiator and the other goes to intake manifold and or water pump.

i tried putting "are" in the headline and it came out like that, anything that starts with an a will do it i guess.

and the heater core came out. i haven't had a heater in this truck since i've owned it so it was just taking up space, i'm gonna look into the ones that plug into the ciggarette lighter

If you have no heater box, you have no defrost either, I hope you live in Arizona or southern Texas.  Here in VA, we have to have defrost in order to pass annual state inspection.

If you don't need it cap off the intake and at the radiator.
