Title: Rear wheel well extensions
Post by: VileZambonie on September 30, 2006, 07:39:00 am
Does anyone know where to get a set of the rear wheel well extensions? I don't see them in  . They connect between the rear wheel well and the bedside.

We sell them, but apparently it is missing from the catalog from the move to the new server.  I will get it updated ASAP!

These worked well for my 87 however they are a challenge. I had to cut the old out and then spreading the sealed wheel well seam to fit the bolt flange between the bed and wheel well. Plus the bolt holes did not align very good. Had to do a lot of fitting. But the end result was good and they are heavy gauge and should last awhile. Sorry, I did not realize you have them for sale roundedline.

Is it the small piece at the back like a mud flap?  If so I can't find anyone making that...

Bringing this one back from the dead. Today's my birthday so my buddy is going to start making me a few sets of these as a present. One of my pet peeves is that void in the rear wheel house from these missing and to be honest my 74 is the only one that has them of my fleetsides so I'm going to put them on all of my trucks now  ;D

This post is confusing as they were assuming I was talking about this part:

But I was referring to the pieces I posted the picture of. Just so anyone interested knows I had my friend who manufactures Mustang parts making these for me.

Got a pic of one installed?  I also thought you were talking about that piece at the bottom rear of the inner wheelhouse.  Are those steel, rubber?

Those are steel and I posted pics of them installed in another post somewhere.... I'll post pix soon.

I have been told by some old guy these were stock equipment on suburbans and maybe blazers. Maybe they kept rock from hitting the gas tank or cut down on cabin noise. i would also like to find a source to get them.

No one reproduces these, that's why I'm having them made. I'm not sure why some trucks got them and some didn't. They were on my 1974 GMC

I know they were standard on 73 and 74's.  I used to remove them and put them on the newer trucks.  I always take them off when I see them at the pick and pulls when I see them.  Haven't seen them in quite a while :(

Vile- Is the guy making these for you willing to make a few more? I would love to throw some on my '76 C20, and I'll bet a few folks here would buy some as well.

Put me down for 3 sets... If he makes extra.  If by chance he needs them powder coated I can handle it.
