This was an interesting barn find. I was out buying and preparing to tow home my 1988 F-150 4x2 and saw another truck sitting in the barn where I bought my truck. It is a 1973-1980 Chevrolet Scottsdale 4x4 SWB truck that is completely unmolested. It is factory(seems to be) Chevrolet Orange in color. My dad knows the guy and said that the truck has not been used in over 10 years. She is rusty in all of the typical places and the frame could use some love too. This truck needs a Hug, badly! However, it is a numbers matching truck and it runs. I was wondering if this might be worth getting as a project for once I get home from Tech School in 2009? Not going to be a super beast, but given it's originality, it would be a slow restoration with only a few mods. Oh yeah, did I mention that the dash still has the AM radio and it is not cut out for a CD player?

Like I said, she's not too pretty, but she isn't dead yet either. I Got my first one of these old trucks when I was 15. Now I am 18 and have had 8 of these trucks in various stages of life and death. I am no longer i the business of stripping/parting/crushing them. I have seen too many getting that treatment lately, so, I will be fixing them now.

I know how that is. In fact, I am working on tracking down my first truck to try to buy back. I am also going to be trading my 78 in the next few days for a 1976 K-20.

So does that mean you're going to change your username to 78[insert trim level here]?

No, because the K-20 I'm getting this weekend is a scottsdale also.
