Title: Head/running lights wires
Post by: CaliC10 on November 03, 2006, 06:59:00 pm
I did a quick search and couldn't find a wiring diagram that would be useful to me, also my Chilton's book isn't helping me much either. So my question is what color is the wire that controls the head lights/running lights? Please see the pic below, thanks.

So far I know its connected to the #5 fuse

I know I could just cut open each wire until I find it but I'd rather not do that. (:

Oops forgot to mention that it is a 79' C10

The parking lights and headlamps are on different circuits. What exactly are you trying to do?

I got a new gauge and I'd like it to light up with my other gauges when I turn on my headlights.

Do it easily by tapping into the yellow or gray wire that go to the radio.Forgot which color is for the lights.

I installed an auxilliary tach and plugged the tach's lamp wire into the slot that says LPS directly below and slightly to the left of the INST LPS fuse.  The tach lights up with the rest of the instrument panel when the headlamps are turned on and its lamp's intensity is also controlled via the instrument panel dimmer.   Give that one a try.
