Those are nice straight lines on your truck. Is it lowered a couple inches? Mine is still in primer too, except I have wipers
I'd be afraid of the cooler dropping thru the wheelwell hole! Don St.Clair

i think that's a battery box, and it's more than likely bolted down
but i agree, looks clean!
-
Front is lowered with BellTech 3: spindles and one coil cut from big Block springs and the rear is lowered with a Belltech flip kit and some leafs removed from pack. Yes that is my Moroso battery box and it is indeed bolted down to the bed floor along with a custom machined aluminum hold down.
Next on the list is to fix pinion angle because flip kit doesn't compensate for that and weld in the wheel tubs. Paint will hopefully be in future as well. Once that is done, time to find a 9 inch and get 4 link installed. Interior will be last on the list of course. I am thinking about buying the DIY Megasquirt EFI computer and going fuel injected. Thansk for the props.....

(Well hey, I'm not a real mechanic, I just found this hat.)
So what is that octagonal cannister on the wheel well- a fuel filter? My son had a 91 just like yours. I like that shade of blue so well that I bought a 92 Astro van the same color. Don St.Clair

That is the coolant catch can/recovery.....I got rid of the OEM recovery tank along with the battery tray it was attached to. I think it matches the Be Cool radiator very well.

Good idea. I am most likely going with Mega Squirt on my Hilborn once the other project truck is close to completion.

I have always been a DIY kind of guy, but I'm not sure how the EFI will react to a lumpy cam and low manifold vacuum.

As long as you run a MAP sensor and not a MAF it will be ok. You might have to idle it up some, but it is possible.

I will probably get the Holley 1000CFM TB and either modify a single plane manifold or just buy one.

I plan on running MPFI along with the dry throttle body. Something similar to this.

I am using this setup once the 73-87chevytrucks.com truck is running.

I didn't know you had a Big Block?
I think I am going to run the Holley TBI 4Di with the Megasquirt controller on top of my RPM manifold. Toys are my game

Yep! All I dealt with was BBC's in the past. I have had this motor since 1990.

Me too. Class of 1993 but we only have 3 years in high school (grades 10-12).
Man that intake on your truck Chris is nothing but sheer beauty. I just love it everytime I see it.

I bought a new carb for the 433.......

do you have a write up for the headlight conversion?

If you do a search for "headlight swap" there's some posts.

I don't have a writeup, but I can make one.....you can also goto coloradok5.com and check that out.

I got the carb installed....I will let everyone know how she runs.

Well, I fired her up.....didn't start right away because I had my PCV line hooked to the brake booster port instead of the PCV port(vacuum leak). I reinstalled my vacuum advance canister so I can get a little more driveability out of her. The old carb didn't have a timed port for vacuum advance, so I locked it out. Can't wait to take her out with the new carb and see how she responds.

nice! i like the way you made those look semi stock!
-
Yeah, I thought I'd try to do something a little different...My friend is a Union sheet metal worker. He used the stock wheel wells as kind of a template to brake the sheet metal in that shape. It would have been hard to use the stock pieces and get that perfect stamped steel shape and twice as much welding.

tubs look real good..nice job I gotta get me a set of those plug wires like you have, need a set anyway, but really like those big ones..
what size carb did you put on it? I built an 850 DP for my 468,used the proform base plate on it,seems to work good so far..

Summit Racing has those wires, about 100 bucks I think. I bought the Holley 4150 Vacuum Secondary 750Cfm. I did some calculating for my engine size and max RPM to put me in the ball park. Runs great with this carb......

I'd say so!

I just drove it 160 miles this weekend.....didn't do as bad on fuel as I thought it would. Right now it has 3.08 gears and 50 series tires in back which equates to about a 3.23 gear ratio I think.

Here is the link to suspension stuff.....i also have most of the Fuel Injection hooked up and ready to test.

Welcome back...How's your suspension coming along?
-
Suspension is the same, finishing up divorce issoes, then back to truck. 8)
-
Divorce sucks but at least your truck won't divorce you.
-
Hopefully this spring I will get it done.
-
Sweet looking truck! ;D
-
Thanks, has a lot more to go though. ;D
-
I'm going to run this rear end with this 4 link I already have:

Looks great alot of nice work you've done get the big "D" taken care of and back to the truck they're better any way they never tell you that you can't by something or that you spend to much time on them thats the trucks I'am talking about ya know.
-
Do you already have the axle housing? What are you using for a carrier and gears? What about springs?
-
I don't have the axle housing yet, but I will show a pic when I get it. The center section...I may just run a nodular unit with a locker or an Eaton posi. Here is a pic of a ladder bar setup with the temporary spring and shock combo I already have, but I'm using the 4 link in my post above.
-
so whyed you get rid of the holly?
-
I got rid of the Holley because I found a Holley Projection 4di fuel injection system on E Bay. I sold the HP 750 on E Bay, but wish I hadn't, cause the 4Di gave me nothing but problems. I decided to try the Barry Grant Demon series and so far I am liking it. It's an 850 DP with annular boosters and 4 corner idling along with the idle eze.

saw your other post, your still genna try fuel injection or sticking with carb now?
-
Sticking with the carb, but if I do run fuel injection, I'll have to run it in Alfa N to bypass the O2 sensor. I have to run racing fuel mixed with regular fuel to keep motor from pinging and running on when I shut her down. Kinda defeats the purpose of fuel injection if I can't use the O2 sensor IMO. I tried the older Holley Projection 4Di and wasn't happy with it.
