Title: Truck weight????
Post by: JAG66 on March 14, 2007, 06:04:00 am
What does my truck weigh aprox?? 78 C10 Silverado SWB 454, fully loaded. I'm looking at hauling in an enclosed trailer with 3500# tandem axles and need to know the aprox. weight and if I should buy a heavier axle trailer.

my guess, about 5k lbs, maybe a tick more.  You can go to a truck stop and get her weighed.

they dont weigh that much, if it did then you would have no room for payload capacity as provided for from factory on the gvrw sticker/plate on the door or frame

cant possibly weigh more than about 4500

go weight it at a gravel pit or scrapyard real quick'

Thanks guys, I just needed a quick estimate. Trying to buy an enclosed trailer and they keep recommending the heavier axles, which cost a lot more $$$$.

Approximate weight for a SWB is 4000.
