Title: Headlight instrument panel lights
Post by: Zip7SC on March 19, 2007, 01:57:00 pm
Hey everyone,
'86 GMC Sierra.  Dash instrument panel lights will go out on occasion (hitting bumps in the road).  I believe the problem is in the headlight knob or headlight switch.  I've purchased both from  .   Is this install a no brainer or are there some tips or tricks that could be of help?   I've searched all posts and a minor problem like this has never been discussed.  Appreciate any and all suggestions / assistance.  Thanks.

If you are replacing the headlight switch it is a simple task.

You'll have to reach under the dash and grip the side of the switch with your hand.  You'll notice a little push-button on the side of the switch.  If you press that button in, it will release the switch knob...it will pull out.   AFter that, just remove the rest of the switch--which is straight forward.
