Post by: mikeith on April 11, 2007, 03:26:01 pm
i have an ls1 from a 98 corvette and i want to drop it into my 86 c10, does anyone know what all i'm going to need? here are a few questions i have

where do i get the motormounts for the ls1?
what modifications do i have to make to make my heater and a/c?
will it bolt up to the th350 transmission that is already in the truck?
what other things need to be done for the swap to work?

I am putting a 6.0L LS motor from a 2500HD in our project truck located here.
you can see my progress and I listed where i got most of the stuff.

The A/C pump won't work, you will need to get something else.
The power steering pump will need adapters to connect to the existing box.
I cannot say it will fit the TH350, so....

The A/C won't fit in the framerail where it is mounted on the Corvette.  I really think you will need F-body Brackets.

The steering box needs adapter fittings to connect to the pump on the motor.
the exhaust manifolds probably won't work either, you most likely need F-body ones also.
