Title: Front fender teardown & re-skin
Post by: shpark2 on May 03, 2007, 10:26:49 am
Well, I'm into the first bits of floor fixin in my 80 C15.  I can see why it's easier to rivet in patch panels!  But I'm not a butcher, so I'll keep fitting and trimming until I have a good gap to weld.

I'll be moving on to front fenders in the near future, I'm wondering if anybody has some pics of re-skinning a fender, or a link to a webpage.  I assume I can't buy the inner fender structure and I need to reuse it, can someone confirm this for me?

Thanks,
Patrick

Are you talking about reskinning the outside of a fender?  It is MUCH easier to buy the whole fender.  There are no skins for fenders.

That's what I want to confirm, that fenders come not just as the outer skin - but with the inner structure that bolts to the rad support and the inner fender well.

Yes, they are just like they are when you unbolt them from the truck.

So just scuff and paint em, that's awesome!
