Who knows anyhing about the correct size of aftermarket cooler to run for a tranny. '77 k10, 383 stroker w/ a 350 tranny. Right now I have a cooler from "Derale". They claim it is for a 4x4 up to 20,500 gvwr. But, the cooler just doesn't look like much. I have it running in-line with the "stock" radiator cooler now. I would prefer not to do this. I blew my last tranny when the radiator blew a seam. I kept enough coolant to cool the engine, but, not the tranny. Thanks.

Here's the one that I run: Tranny Cooler
I have had absoultly no problems with it what so ever. I use my truck to plow snow with so you know that it has to heat the tranny up alot. Also if you are concerned about tranny temps I would suggest installing a temperature gauge on it. 1973 K20 - 350/350/205

I run my coolers independent of the radiator. The rule w/ tranny coolers is run the biggest one you can fit and if you can't fit one big one, see if you can fit a couple small ones.
