Title: What Clips can fit onto a 79 Chevy

I have heard that the 88-98 front clip including fenders hood and grille can be swapped onto a 73-87 truck.  I have also learned from when i had an 89 GMC that the cadillas front end can ne swapped onto the 88-98 front end.  I am now readying that i can swap a 99-03 front end onto the 88-98 front end and use the newer cadillac front end.  So is it safe to say that i can put the newer cadillac front end onto the 73-87 truck? 

If this is the case and i am not reading too far into this what would i need to do this would i have to get each of the upgrade kits one by one and put them on to get the right 'blend' of front end parts?  Please help me try and make this happen!!

I can truly say i never heard of anyone putting a 88-98 nose on a 73-87 chevy truck .The only noses i know that`ll fit the 73-87 is the blazer style up to 1991 as well as the suburbans but as far as pickup  trucks after 87 i dont think it will work, the body lines are completly different and the overall bolting of the fenders to the cowl are also totally different.

Like 80 stepside said, never going to work. Not unless you know a metal shaper than can hammer you out some tin ti graft the two together. The 1 tons also go up to 90 or 92 and fit but not the pickups. The Escalate nose as far as I can see will not fit the 88 and up body style either. It will swap onto the same body style / year pickup that it was produced.

So is it just the grill from the 88-91 that can bolt on then. I know i have seen the 91 grill on our body style truck  i guess i just assumed that the whole front clip as on there....my bad.  SO.... all i need to put this grill in would be the radiator support and the grille and headlights and assosiated stuff??

On a 79 you will need every thing forward of the doors, the body wire harness, & and the windshield wiper transmission assembly. 81 and up you can use just the body wire harness, the core support, & everything that attaches to it.

There is a company that makes a front clip that bolts to the 88-98 chevy trucks and uses the 02-06 ecalade grill and headlights.
Even still it will not fit the 73-87 trucks.
