We've hijacked the other thread moving off topic, so i feel we should start a new one:

Why don't i put a 2.5 in?
Because parts availability is not as good/common/cheap/easy.
Believe me, i would love to put a 2.2 or a 60degree v-6 in but the SBC is the easiest cheapest way to go for me.
Again, don't worry about me; I've driven a camaro with only 2 cylinders so i know it WILL work.
1) It appears that you have a rochester 2GV? Should i use one of those or can i use the quadrajet?
1a) Where did you block off the runners for cyls 1,3,5,7? Where they meet up with head or sooner?
2)How exactly did you secure the lifters in their bores?

NOTICE:
Plan discontinued (temporarily) due to impracticality (among other things).
I am going to stick with the 350 and try to see how much MPG i can get out of a 1/2 ton pickup and 350CID chevy small block engine.
We all might be pleasantly suprised.
Stay tuned.

Good decision. I had a 283 in my truck and it couldn't even cruise up a slight grade without kicking into passing gear. It also burned more fuel than the 350 I have in the truck now.
