Post by: 79Stepside on May 28, 2007, 10:31:05 pm
Has anyone had any clearance problems with running long tube headers with a 2-4 drop and running 15 inch wheels? Olease let me know and or post pics of your truck. still can't decide what drop I want either 2-4 or 3-5.

You will be fine, I had Hooker Comp headers with a 4" drop...no problems what-so-ever.

I had Blackjack long tubes for mine...it's 3/4 dropped. Didn't have problems with the drop but didn't like the fact that the left collector ended up being about 3-4 inches from the tranny crossmember. Plus they dropped too visually low for my liking. Sold them and got shorties for and 88-up model. BUT, I have to clearance the lower section of the frame about 1/4 inch on the left side to get the collector to fit. Always a trade off I guess. With the shorties, the exhaust will be mostly hidden inside the frame rails. Hope this helps.
