I have ridden since 1992, my current bike is a Honda SuperHawk. Funny thing is I have no pictures of it at all. I just put a new battery in it this past weekend.
-
Why haven't you ridden it since 92?
-
Chris said he HAS ridden since 1992
-
Oh LOL I was gonna say that's a long time to just look at your bike ;D
-
With gas prices like they are, I am starting to ride to it exclusively again. I have had 3 bikes since 1992.
1992 Yamaha FZR600 - sold in 2002
2001 Yamaha VStar 1100 Silverado - sold in 2003
1998 Honda VTR1000 Superhawk- bought in 2003.
I want to get another cruiser again, but that will be later down the road I am sure.
-
I've got five motorcycles in my garage now! Two are friends' bikes. Mine are a 2002 KTM520SX, 1992 XR600 (soon to be the passenger capable dirtbike) and a VTR1000.

i'm gonna be going to MSF class this weekend. if i pass the class i automatically get my class m. i gotta call around to find cheap insurance though, state farm (i'm under my parents, and it's what my truck is under) was gonna charge me over $650/mo...
i'm lookin to get a yamaha r6...
-
i have been riding for most of my life. i started on dirt bikes then as i got old i bought sport bikes. i had a '93 cbr1000f, then a '02 r6. then yesterday i bought an '07 Harley Night Rod Special.
-
Man, bad stuff has been happening here (middle Tenn) with people I know and their bikes. Two aquaintences were killed just this week in different wrecks when somebody turned in front of them! A third just got out of the hospital after his back tire blew out at 70mph... Sorry guys. Not tryin to start bad mouthin bikes. They are definitely cool. Been a lousy week here. 3 dead friends and 2 in the hospital....All kinds of stuff going on.
-
Well if you see me stop posting it's because I got creamed or my girlfriend slayed me. Happens every day everywhere - nothin you can do about it. I ride for fun and strictly leisure - I think I have a few guardian angels
-
well i passed the written portion. we also rode for 5 hours this morning. if i pass the riding part tomorrow morning, i'll join those of you with class m's ;D
-
Check with Progressive on the insurance. They were the cheapest at the time I got mine.
-
i passed! ;D ;D ;D
i'm gonna call around for a quote on the insurance tomorrow. then if i can find something i can afford, yamaha is having an offer of $69/mo on the r6s!
-
I haven't ridden since 88, I layed it down when a broad pulled a left in front of me, My left forearm got torn up(one big scrab) Dr. said there was a couple of layers of skin still left on it, the bike 59 Pan hit the ditch and then a telephone pole. What a mess that was. Funny thing is she never stopped, she seen me go down.

I hate people like that. I saw some dope run over a cat and keep going and the cat was writhing in agony. Luckily I found its owner but it ended up dying. People drive so bad and it only gets worse. Ride as safe as you can be on the defense all the time.

Here is me!!!!

-
I would love to have a bike, but I know too many people who have had really bad accidents and it wasn't their fault.
Plus I have three herniated discs in my neck, and if I ever fell, I can't imagine the consequences.
-
Hey you only die once! :P
-
i called a broker and he said metlife could get me insured at about $180/mo!!! that means i'll hopefully be buyin a yamaha r6s in the coming weeks...
mmm, only i want it in yamaha blue
-
$180.00 a month seems quite high to me, I only pay 500 for the year on a brand new Harley Full Dresser!!!That is through Drive Insurance from Progressive.
-
Call Progressive, that is STEEP! How old are you? What does your record look like? The highest I ever paid was $500 for the year, and that was a LONG time ago.
-
I pay $680/year but that's with extra coverage. I have a lot invested in the bike + I got better personal injury coverage. $20K won't go very far today if you get mamed on your bike & if u have a passenger... Don't go with the cheapest, go with the best.
-
i'm 19, with a few tickets on my record, that's why. progressive wanted about $450/mo...
-
ok, that makes more sense.
-
Ive really been wanting another bike for a couple years now. I had a Honda 700 for a short time in the mid 80s, I didnt really enjoy it that much, now Ive got the bug again.
problem is I dont really have the room , or the money for a bike unless I sell the truck, not sure I want to do that either. I dont have a bike regestration, but Im gonna take the 150.00 course at the local community college & get my regestration.
Salesman I know @ local Honda/Suzuki dealer let me ride a used VTX1300 around the property, really liked it. I think if I buy one I really want a Suzuki C90 Bolulavard..or the VL1500. I also like the Yamaha RoadStars
-
i have a few bikes, a 2001 cbr600f4i stuntbike, a 2006 cbr600f4i that i'm building into the ultimate stuntbike, and an 2007 CRF250R that switches back and forth from a dirtbike setup to a supermoto setup.... i'm sellin the 01 cbr to pay to bag my truck. then next spring im goin to buy a HD streetbob. i work for a harley dealer here in lubbock so i guess i gotta represent a lil ::) lol. i'd post some pics but i'm at work and we have a firewall(that lets me here for some reason) but i cant get to my photobucket account.
-
This is my 2003 Agusta f4 (italian) crotch rocket. it only has 1283 miles on odometer. YES it's a really fast bike. (http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r150/OKUMA111/DSC04183.jpg)
-
nice bike man... i've always wanted an mv... i'm just too hard on bikes so i've stuck w/ the f4i... i can beat on it all day and as long as i keep it serviced it will take anythingi can throw at it!
-
thanks, this was my chrismas present from my wife last year.... Best X-Mas present ever! :o I thought i was dreaming..... honestly almost fainted! :'(
-

I have seen somewhere along the lines a bag for cars and trucks like this. You lay it out, drive onto it, then zipper zip ;lock type it closed. It has incandescent beads in bags, additives for you fuel etc. Been a while since I saw them.
-
I like those covers, but really aint that over protective of my bike. Heres mine 03 Honda VTX 1800,96hp/115 ft/lbs trq on chassis dyno. This is an old post, maybe we can get some more bikes on here.
-
I am actually looking to sell my superhawk for a cruiser. I was riding my sisters VStar 650 for the last 2 months. It was getting 55mpg @55mph
-
My mom rode a V-Star 650. Really a nice bike. I am on the large side, so I make it look like a moped, but my bro-in law bought it, drives it daily, and loves it. They really are good bikes, and great mileage. My bike only gets about 30mpg, but is an animal. Wide open throttle from a stop is not advized.
-
My buddy had both of his V-stars over here and I rode it the other night. It felt like a moped compared to my bike too. My mothers b/f bought one and loves it. You can't beat the price for what you get though.
-
I agree totally. For the price, its hard to beat. She sold her Suzuki250 for $2000 after riding it for a year,( bought it for $2200 new) and bought her Vstar for $2500. Not bad at all. I bought mine for $13000 out the door new. Not real cheap, but lots cheaper than the FatBoy I was looking at. I bought it because it fits me better, and feeds my need for power. The Fatboy didnt quite have the get up and go I wanted. Im a power junky, what else can I say. ???
-
I had a Vstar 1100 and loved it. My wife said she wanted something sportier like the sport bike I had previously, sold it got the Superhawk and she hated it after only 3 rides. I should have kept it, but the person that bought it offered me more that what it was worth, so.... Here I am wanting another one.
-
my 1983 XS 650 special. work in progress
-
Cool 650. I got a 66 yamaha that I hope to start on soon
-
is the 66 a 650 twin?
-
is the 66 a 650 twin?
unfortunatly no. It is a smaller one. I believe it is a 100 or 110??? It is a side by side twin, but I dont think it is very big. It is a street bike ( I assume) because it has a speedometer, turn signals etc. Looks like the tank was originally chrome with the black knee pads, but someone painted it silver. I have the title and all for it. Its way too small for me, I was going to restore it and haul it in the back of my 68 Elcamino for show purposes. It is on the future project list though as my extended cab and choptop are first.
-
yeah that would be a good combination. trying to get mine looking decent for that reason too. but its not going to be a show bike, not a lot of people like the style im going for
-
I don`t own a bike anymore but I`m a Harley mechanic so I ride almsot everyday, just on someone else`s bike.
-
nothing wrong with that
-
I had to sell my last bike almost 5 years ago now after spending every dime I had buying a house, I guess it was a logical move but I miss riding bad. I was a Harley person all my life hanging out with REAL Harley guys. I used to go to Daytona bike week every year with my Harley buddies. All these wanna be yuppies around here with their orange county overpriced bikes that they never even worked on them self that only ride from bar to bar bragging did me in. I've always been a performance oriented person and no offense to you Harley guys (nice bike by the way Vile) but they are the most basic motors out there.
I owned a early Suzuki 1150 that was set up for the drags (but horrible around corners), A 95 Yamaha FZR1000 that I was hit on, totalled the bike, broke my scapula (but I lived) and took over 6 months to use my arm again and finally my favorite, my 2001 Honda CBR 929 RR that I had to sell.
I also had several people in a short period of time that was killed on bikes and I don't enjoy sitting in traffic doing 35-40 mph everywhere I go on a hyper bike that will do 100 in 1st gear with 5 more to go. I plan on getting another 929 in the future.
-
i know what you mean about the pretty boys driving around on there "choppers". not a lot of people may agree with me here, but i think a bike like mine is a real chopper. something original and different that someone has put there own time and style into
-
Unique is cool, and the work you do to it make it real. My buddy has a '58 sportster with a stroked and bored motor (kick start only of course) that I helped fix up on a budget and I've never seen another like it as nice. I'm not a sportster person but I love his. I can't afford to keep up with the Harley parts, for the same money I could build a wild car, its ridiculous how much change these guys have into their bikes.
-
yeah. im only 18 and would have liked a harley, but they are too exxpensive for me right now. so the 650 twin worked for me
-
Having something to ride is more important than what your riding, especially when your young. Get some good riding time in and get a nicer bike later when your more experienced and can afford one. Insurance is no joke for you young guys on bikes, you guys are the biggest risk out there. Ride smart and keep the ego's at home. Its good your having fun fixing up your bike.
-
insurance still isnt that bad though, its only like 120 a month or something. about half of what it is for my truck. plus i live in Mass so insurance sucks here anyway
