Title: FUEL INJECTION FUEL PUMPS ETC:
Post by: Stewart G Griffin on June 14, 2007, 12:09:52 pm
I wasn't planning on moving in this direction, at least not so soon but something came up:

I have a possible connection cheap on an 89 g-10 van with a 305 at my brother's job.  Decent condition, only 47,000 miles on the clock.  We know that the fuel pump is blown.  Other than that no problems.

I would ASSume that the engine set-up is similiar, if not identical, to the pickups.

So, i'm wondering if the fuel pump is in the tank or outside?

If outside, how much do pumps usually go for?

Actually, i'll ask my brother to try the fuse first and then check the pump relay.

I am pretty sure all gm electric fuel pumps of that era are mounted in tank, if not go to autozone's site and it will tell you.

It is in the tank if it is factory, guaranteed.
