My '87 R10 Daily Driver gets 21.8mpg on the highway trips and about 18mpg around town, last time I checked it which was right after I got it.  It is a 305 though with TBI.

My  91 5.7 4x4 3/4ton sub (http://www.delbridge.net/suburban) gets 14.3 on the interstate last time I checked.  IN the city, well, I am afraid to check.

If i'm calculating right, i'm getting about 20 on the highway.

This is the 260HP crate engine.

But i've got a lockup clutch AND 2.56 rear gears.  Plus, i don't drive fast.

Also, i have true dual exhaust and the pipes are pretty straight all the way to the rear bumper.  No headers though.
