Title: 73 tranny question

could anyone tell me all of the transmission possibilitys for a 73 chevy pickup.  i am getting a 73 pickup from a friend and i dont know what the tranny is.  i plan to overhaul the tranny and put it in a 73 nova ss.  or could you tell me how to identify what tranny i have?

from factory auto tranny would be 350 or 400,

350 in truck starting in 73 is longer than car one by 3"

truck 4oo has bolted on style output yoke unlike in cars

you most likely will have to modify driveline to use truck tranny in a car except for in a few rare cases.
