Nice truck. keep us posted on the progress.
and try using www.imageshack.us to post pics.

right now it won't let you post 4 because the total of all 4 must be less than 192K. I will bump it up to about 500, you need to size the pictures about 600x480 or less to upload them all in one post.
Excellent progress though. Keep them coming.

Why the Ford 9"?
-
Looking good! ;) Keep the pics coming.
-
thanks guys.
-
i chose the 9 because i went to see a friend to get a reg 1/2 ton rear end to replace the massive3/4 and he had the 9 with the same width, bolt pattern, and disc brakes laying under a stack of fenders. And for $40 i couldn't say no. just had to cut off a bunch of brackets and weld on leaf perches for the flip kit

Great project. I like it. Nice work. Can't wait to see more as progress continues.
-
I see pics.. Lookin good!!

made some progress over the week end.tore out all the front susp, bolted on 1/2 ton upper ball joints and had to plate the front of the lower arm so i could tack in 1/2 lower ball joints. choped a coil off the springs, bolted on my 1/2 ton spindles and brakes, then sanded every thing and gave it a hillbilly powdercoat(rustolem hamered paint ;D)then threw on some rims and tires i had for the time being even though they're a bit small.big improvment for only spending 65 bucks
-
finished minus the shocks

Nice work!
To convert from 3/4 or 1 ton to 1/2 ton, all you did was swap to 1/2 ton balljoints? My neighbor is scrapping a 4 door 3/4 ton with 1 ton spindles and dually axle. If I get the truck I want to make a 1/2 ton 6 foot bed 4 door truck.
-
yes the upper joints are smaller but they use the same bolt pattern and the lowers are smaller but i jut welded them in
-
oh and you need the spindles from a 1/2 ton of course
-
I really think you should Make a Phantom dually. Get you some nice 15X14 rims for the back and reinstall the dually bed :o
-
yes the upper joints are smaller but they use the same bolt pattern and the lowers are smaller but i jut welded them in
what did you weld in? ???
-
I was so close to making mine a crew cab be I chickened out. Can't wait to see how this turns out.
-
Looks GOOD.....

That looks great. What frame are you using? I see the half ton running gear and maybe a 9in in the rear? Is it going to be a short bed or are the pics throwing me off?
-
thanks and your right its a 3/4 ton frame shortened with a 9 inch disk rear and 1/2 ton front , now airbaged with four link and raised front cross member
-
Oh I see now. When I last posted it didn't show the rest of the thread. Pretty cool!
