Title: carb rebuld, quadrajet
Post by: dumbucket1 on July 16, 2007, 03:09:58 pm
I rebuilt my quadrajet because it kept stalling when you put the truck in drive or came to a stop light. After the rebuild it now idles smooth and really wants to smoke the tires accellerating, but it still wants to stall when put into gear or when come to a stop light, raising the idle does not help any at all. What should I look for, maybe vacuum leak at the primary throttle shaft? There are no vacuum leaks otherwise. 76 c20 350 auto.

nope not timing, I put a borrowed carb on it and no stalling issues when put into gear with that carb.

Then you need to pull it back off and make sure you remove the jets, and run some mig wire through all the holes. Clean everything really good and blow it out with compressed air. /recheck your float settings and did you seal up the casting plugs with epoxy?
