Title: Exhaust

I just sent me old exhaust pipes to a guy at Meineke to get my new pipes and to have them bent.... does it matter if the catalytic converter is connected strait to the muffler? 3" pipes if that matters
Will it effect anything?
Will it effect the sound at all? They are hi-flow catco cats

Your catalytic converters need to be as close as possible to the manifolds/headers to function. Are your mufflers in the stock location?

i dont know about the stock position of the mufflers... when i got the truck it had dual exhaust, no x or h pipe, long tube headers... i had to tell the guy to put the cats right behind the transmission mount bracket... as i dont believe they would of fit any closer to the headers so i would estimate the cats are about 3' from the headers. but if they dont pass emissions i could just put historic tags on it and not even worry about it at alll


One more question... how much would my hi-flow catco cats reduce the sound of my flowmasters???

They need to be closer than that.  Basically they should be at the end of the headers.

Cats won't noticably reduce the sound.
