Hoping to get some ideas for my new project. 1986 K15 shortbox / stepside. Want to get rid of orginal tailgate chains and stuff. Anyone done this or have ideas/pics. Also looking for options on the box floor. Thanks in advance :D

Many people use boat latches and there is a hinge system out there that replaces the chains. I will have to find it but will post when I do.
As for the floor, what are you wanting. Wood originally came in them. I know of some people that are using the composite material used by Lowes for decks also.

found one of them...

I used S-10 Blazer tailgate cables to eliminate the chains and the latches I got from a boat shop but one of them broke so I am looking for an alternate. I replaced my factory crappy wood with a kit from a company in the midwest.

Which Company did you get the bed wood from? Did you get the chrome rails from them too?

Yes the Wood came from Mar-K and I bought the Pine kit. I also bought the chrome strips and the tailgate from them as well.
