Title: Brakes different on 1/2 and 3/4 ton?
Post by: Wendell on January 22, 2004, 05:33:00 pm
I went down to United Rents the other day to pick up a Bobcat. They would only let me have the "baby" Bobcat because I had a 1/2 ton truck. They said the brakes were lighter than on the 3/4 ton. Is this right? I thought the only difference was in the springs.

Educate me, please. What else is different?

Nope, 3/4 tons are more than just springs.  Larger/Heavier parts include: springs (of course), brakes, axles, drivetrain (sometimes: tranny, t-case, universals, driveshafts, ect.), radiators......thats about all that I can think of.  I think that 1/2 and 3/4 tons share the same frame, while 1 tons are heavier.
