Was there a Dale Earnhardt series of Chevy pickups put out in 1987?  When my husband bought it, it was black and grey with a red pinstripe.  It had a number 3 on the back glass along with Dale's signature decal.  There's also an emblem on the tailgate.   So did someone just fix up the truck like this, or was it a special edition that year?

Didn't come that way from GM.  That color scheme was fairly popular though.

I have the same color scheme on my 82 C10 - Has black upper and lower, silver grey center, accented w/red striping. No Intimidator decals or emblems, but what a concept!

Yeah, that black and silver paint scheme was around long before Earnhardt started driving the black Goodwrench colors.
