Is it ok to paint my leaf springs on my truck with spray paint??
-
sure
-
Better buy a case ! You will might have to repaint them allot. ;D
-
If you are not planning on sandblasting them I would use a brush. I would also recommend a product called Chassis Saver. It is identical to POR15 but about half the price. Wire brush the heck out of or needle scale them, then brush it on.

ROCKING77, did you think spray painting your leaf spring would affect suspension? OR hwy that question? ------ I am just curious' ---- :-\ if you want you can even paint your tires and it will still be ok.
-
I thought if i get it in the bushings or something that it would cause a problem. Sorry about the question i guess it was dumb

No question is stupid, well almost no question. But if you don't know you should ask. Or just do it and see what happens.

I ALWAYS paint my springs frame all that stuff. I advise is semi flat or regular flat black. looks awesome and hides alot! Unless you goin for a full restoration and you blasting them like mentioned above. Otherwise if you use a gloss or laqr paint you will see every little pit mark , dimple , and rust welt.
I also I'm guilty of painting a set of tires ....... They were white letter and they just didnt look right.... til I painted them.

I blasted my leafs and gave them an aerosol overhaul...turned out great!!

An old chassis guy told me years ago. that you should inspect and clean then spray on graphite paint. tractor suppy has it.
