Title: Exhaust help, headers or ???
Post by: zieg85 on September 05, 2007, 05:16:58 pm
I have an older engine with the dipstick on the drivers side with the newer emission manifolds with the smog tubes 1986 that require the dipstick to be on the passenger side.  Is there any spacers available or would the best bet be to get smog legal headers?  I live in NW Indiana where they do smog testing and I need to put it all back.  Any suggestions???

i live not too far away from you and was dealing with the same thing. get a 10,000 lb. truck plate, you dont need to take emmisions with one of them. thats what im going to do. if u wanna change your exhaust i would go with some long tube headers and get true duals.

I know about the 10,000 plate.  Just don't want to go there if I can help it.  Indiana gets enough of my money for plates.  Registering 2 trailers 2 trucks and an 05 Merc is killing me as it is.
