Title: How are you getting rid of junk parts?
Post by: dumbucket1 on September 09, 2007, 05:39:35 pm
Any of you guys that stripped down your trucks how did you get rid of the junk parts? I don't have a trailer readily available to take them to the scrap yard myself. I stripped all sheet metal off of my 84 gmc except for the bare cab with no doors. Now I want all the junk parts gone. Do you think the junk yards will be willing to come pick these up? It's sunday right now and I can't just call them.

BTW the truck is a longbed and I am surprised how easy it was to get the bed off. I just ground the heads off all the bolts from the top and me and my wife lifted it off.

You might be able to find someone in the local paper that would pick up the old junk...

If you have a local trading post paper they always list "we pick up junk cars"...that usually means they want the scrap metal. Give them a try.

Just call a local scrap metal bum. They make their living scrappin metal and will take your old toaster even if it's full of burnt toast.
