Sounds pretty neato. are you gunna make it with cupholder or anything in it?
I was thinkin about making one out of an old military ammo box I have. i can't weld or i would put some cup holders like in the top and cut the lid in half and have it hinge in the back and open up about 3/4 of the way back but have the cupholder in the front part that doesn't hinge. just a rough idea.
-
that would look pretty cool... i may add some side mount ones later like the ones on roddoors' website
i'm going to add to this one later and have it come up between and around the top of the seats w/ subwoofer in the middle when i have more time... i just need to have this one done so i have somewhere to mount the gauges and switches for the airride because we are starting my install on all of it friday
-
got the frame done last night and tonight i'll be makin my 1st attempt w/ fiberglass :o i'll post pics of the frame after work
-
Cool. Good luck man.

Can't wait to see it. I'm building one myself right now for my audio system. It's going to be full length and rise up to about shoulder height at the back and up to about the dash vent area at the front. It will hold my 12" sub, electronic xover, and dual head units. Always like to see custom work in these trucks! I'm big into sound quality car audio and am going for an old skool look so no fiberglass in this one.

What are ya makin it out of?
My ammo box idea won't work. there is no way that thing is fittin between the dash and the bench and I wann keep my bench. I woul dhave to really cut the box down to size and it would just ruin it. *awaits another unique idea*

You need pictures!!!!!! (I'm more of a visual guy) :p
-
Come on Mikeith, quit teasing us.. Post some pics.
-

-
I wonder if Mike got the camera stuck in the fiberglass so he can't take any pictures :P
-
LOL
-
sorry guys i have em on the camera... but my gf has it and is outa town... whe should be back tomorrow night and i'll try n get em posted.... i was really impressed w/ how well it came out and how much easier it was than i thought it was going to be! i learned one thing though! resin gels and hardens FAST... you have to haul ass to get a smooth coat on before it starts to get hard... and mix little at a time.

-
That console is sick! Absolutely awesome!
-
for anyone who may be interested ill be selling this console in late spring when we do the MAJOR build on the truck because we'll be doing a complete one off interior. i just needed a temporary console since we're doing the airride setup right now so i'll be selling the console and the complete dash w/ my modified gauges ;D
-
Good Job!!!!!
-
How many "coats" or "layers" of glass did you use?
-
just 2
-
MIKEITH, i want your gas - brake pedal inserts. let me know. if interested on selling.
-
i may sell em when we rebuild the truck in spring... if you're in any hurry they're just the brushed billet ones from and they fit nice... the throttle one is a complete new pedal

not in a hurry, but would like then asap for my new interior completion. my interior is in the upholstery shop right now gettin a redone in ostrich skin and leather.
-
thats cool! just the seats? or seats doorpanels n headliner?
-
the shop is doing the donor seats from a suburban in all leather and ostrich inserts with "GMC" embroided, door panels (inserts where interior handle are) in ostrich and the door pockets redone new in ostrich. headliner in leather and sunvisors in ostrich. steering wheel is leather wrapped and stitched... ALL of the leather is tan and ostrich is ivory or bone color. I hope comes it out nice :-[ ... also thats why I want well... "need" white seat belts on my other topic.
-
I have the same stereo as you in my truck
