hello all,
I would like to change my '76 4x4 GMC from a 3 on the tree to a 4speed, I have a 4 speed lined up but want to know if my t-case is interchangeable between the two. It is a New Process part time cast iron case (assuming a NP205, it has no tag). the truck was originally a I6 if that matters. TIA

hey man, i know this is an old post but i wanted to respond anyhow...YES, your t-case should bolt up just fine...the NP205 only has one kind of mating flange that i'm aware of

thanks for the reply, i thought this was a lost post, this is an extremely rare truck one of two 4x4 three speed trucks i have seen (both I6's). mine is a v8 swap and soon to be adding a SM465.
thanks
Brady

no problem. it's a shame you can't figure out just how many were produced like that...if it really is rare i'd restore that sucker to 100% original status...6 cyl and all...

another one that dropped out of radar. If someone doesn't respond just post a bump or TTT (to the top) in the post to bring it back up.

is the sm465 the best 4 speed for a chev truck

Depends on what you are going to do with it.
