Hi, i have a Chevy Blazer 1980, mechanic gearbox, 4x4.
The problem is as follows:
Yesterday i was driving seeking a beach, and connected the front traction, and heard this recurrent noise "trrr" and some seconds after, again "trrr" and so on. I went down to check tires graze, but all normal. I looked for oil spots, nothing.
What happened?

???
Do you have auto locking hubs?
-
sounds like stiff front axle u-joints to me. My $.02
-
Were you moving, How fast ? Turning at all ?
Maybe bearings up front ?
-
When was the last time you checked & repacked the wheel bearings ?
(bearings should be washed out before re-packing)
Also check the F&R diff oil and the T/Case oil, If any are milkey change the fluids.
The noise you described, Sounds like the axle inside the spindle without any lube.
Make sure to lube the brass bushing inside the spindle when reinstalling.
(this area should be cleaned also)
This will also be a good time to check the breaks ball joints and steering parts.

Hahahaha good one Ville! Which reminds me, maybe I should go check my muffler bearings.....

Those bearings take a special grease--you have to wear gloves.
Have you checked your windshield washer fluid--if it is too full, it will make that noise.
