Ok, I haven't had much time to install these, but here they are. They have 48 LED's, and they are a simple plug in. The only special step is the 3M tape that is on the tab. The lense housing must be cleaned and you are done..
-
The above pic is what you are actually buying, the last pic above it in daylight stock on the right, Dakota on the left. Night pics coming soon...
Here is what I did to install them... 4th pic is where you tape it down.
-
Last 2 steps are to test it and put the cover back on. Actually testing is before putting the tape on...

Here are the nite shots. Seeing them in person they are MUCH brighter. BTW, they DO require a HD flasher to operate. Most 87-91's should have them. Napa Part number is 552...
Pic with just the lights on then pics with the brakes on. Right side is a stock 1157 bulb.

Here is a video of them at night with lights on, blinker on, brakes on, blinker on.

Those are so awesome! I saw a Dakota Digital display at a show a few weeks back that had these, among others, operating. They are soooo wonderfully bright!

Chris, I hope I don't offend you as it is not my intention. But having worked for NAPA Auto parts For over 7 years I would like to comment on the flasher you mentioned above.
The flasher you mentioned isn't a true heavy duty flasher. In fact it is the same standard flasher that has been used on the majority of the domestic vehicles from the mid 60's thru the early 90's. It operates with a bi-metal strip inside it that as the electricity passes thru it the 2 strips of metal(which are bonded together back to back) heat up and expand at different speeds thus causing it to pull(arc) away from it's contact point inside the housing thus causing the lights to flash. Simple. Lightweight. Ok for regular every day use. But for towing not a good choice as it flashes way too fast and will burn out prematurely.

However, If you want a true heavy duty electronic flasher, NAPA DOES have one available for around $10.00 - $13.99 depending on your location. The part number for it is 502623 Line code is LIT works great and the loud report of the flasher helps remind you that your flasher is still on after you change lanes so you won't look like an idiot going down the highway with your turn signal on. And it can handle towing a trailer with no problems

No problem, I guess I should have pointed out that the standard flasher won't work and most 88-up pickups used the 552, but I used it in another truck and they flasher didn't work at all. So basically a minumum flasher would be the 552. Thanks for the info, I will add that PN to the catalog.

Chris, my computer won't load the video. Is anyone else having trouble with it?
-
hmmm, weird. It is the standard Window Media format like youtube.
-
wow! I downloaded and viewed your video, that difference is very clear! sweet!
-
Those are awesome...at least now if someone rearends you you will know it's not because the didn't recognize the sorry factory style bulb but because the were blinded...love it now if only tax season would hurry up and get here!!
-
I just realized how old of e ressurection this is but hey maybe it will lead to more sales...I can think of at least one.... ;D
-
dont get me wrong, i would have loved to be able to afford the approx 250 bucks, but i enjoy the idea of building my own to fit how i want.
-
I have been sent several for evaluation (and I bought these) to see if I could sell them. All the ones I was sent pale in comparison, and then there is the warranty for as long as you own them... They are costly, but you get what you pay for.

I like those. Definitely going on the list. Still gotta get all those patch panels from you first though.
