Title: new lifted truck purchase
Post by: grovey on September 30, 2004, 11:02:00 pm
just bought a nice shortbed stepside chevy. it has a 6" softride lift with single shocks, rolls on 36/14.50/16.5 mickeys.truck runs good, but doesn't drive to good. it has a shimmy to it. also it wanders some .it only has a stock  single steering stabilizer on it now. what can i do to straighten this out. what should i check first? rims are either  aluminum alcolas or mickeys not sure. any input? thanks grovey

First you might want to check the alignment if it is wandering any.  Secondly you might want to check the joints in the axles.

This might be a stupid question but are the wheels tight? What type of lug nuts acorn or shank style? If they are shank style and the shank is to long they can be tight and the wheel still just a hail lose. I have found a single stearing stabilizer to not be so good on anything bigger than 33s.
