my 79 c20 350 with sm465 clutch was going out i thought- it was slipping pretty bad but then yesterday when i was drving i put my foot on the back side of the clutch pedal and lifted towards me- the clutch was not getting fully engaged. so now i can start off and as soon as i let the clutch out if i lift up it will fully engage and work fiine- is there any adjustment on this so it engages itsself completely or???

The bushings are probably shot on the clutch/brake pedals. IMO it was never a real good design when they changed it from the previous 72 and older. The clutch pedal lever is spring loaded the opposite way. My 85 has the hydraulic slave on it and you would swear it was not as much leg is needed to work it. I would start at the bushings. Make sure your z-bar under the hood is not binding and is greased.

There is an adjustment on the mechanical linkage. It is the rod that pushes on the clutch fork. You need about 1-2" of play in the pedal to be correct.
