Title: BBC intakes
Post by: Leadfoot on October 24, 2007, 08:48:12 am
having trouble deciding on an intake for the old truck.. need some opinions..

it's a .060 over balanced 4 bolt 454, 10.25:1 forged pistons (.25 dome),GMPP aluminum rectangle port heads,.600 lift solid comp cam, roller rockers etc.. right now it's got an 850 double pumper holley on a performer rpm airgap.. it's got ported 781 oval ports with 2.19/1.88 valves on it at the moment, but I'm getting tired of looking at those GMPP heads sittin on the shelf ;D it;s got a th400 with 3500 stall convertor and 3.90 gears,I shift it at 6200 rpm..  with the low RPM,I'm leaning toward another Performer RPM airgap, just the rectangle port version..

it's not a daily driver, but will see plenty of street time, and be raced once in a while ;D

Any opinions? what would you put on it?

thanks,
Tim

I am partial to these: :D

If I was still doing carbs I would probably go for the Performer Air Gap, plus if you are happy with it.....

that is sooo cool!!  I'd like to switch it to electronic FI,like one of the Big Shot systems and strap on a pair of 88mm turbos..how cool would that be?

I do like the air gaps though..

Why do you want to change to the rectangular port heads?
