Im in the midst of building a 350 87 c-10 1987 Block , 462 heads , Edelbrock torker intake single plane , holly 600 carb , roller timing chain ,new Hyd Lifters , and headers , 700-r4 , 308 rear gears Im niot a mechanic but have helped out building stock car motors .Im just looking for someone who may have an idea how this will work , Im on a fixed income so alot of used parts .Had bottom end done and the rest is on the stand. Had the carb rebuilt and the cam and timin chain are new , Gonna get new lifters also .ANyone ever put a similar motor together Many Thanks .Bruce

How are you planning on using the truck... If you want to tow something, you may be a little disappointed in the bottom end torque with a single plane and 3.08 gears. If you really want to keep the manifold, you would be happier with 3.73's or higher to get you rpms up. What kind of cam, lift? duration? lobe sep? It all has to work together.
For a daily driver, I would stick with a dual-plane even with a fat cam. These trucks are heavy and need some bottom end.

I would run a stock quadrajet manifold before I put that torquer intake on it..or better yet,find you an Edelbrock performer,I see'em for $50 used sometimes..

Take that torker and throw it off a bridge. Get a decent dual plane like the performer as suggested. What's you cam grind? Definitely ditch the 3.08's If you have a 700r4 run 3.73's

It will be an almost every day ride , I have a 84 caprice wagon also and I use it alot. Im looking for a performer intake Think I saw one for around 100 prob be worth `it I can find gears later on as thin motor will take another couple months , Pay as I go haha I picked up the 462 heads 1.94 valves and just rebuilt .Im useing hyd lifters ,have a new set of them and the heads have new springs that will look after the lift .Bruce

with the cam mentioned,yeah me too... he is gonna need some gears and even a 2500 convertor wouldn't hurt..that cam will be a little soft on the bottom end in a 350 otherwise..

The performer will be fine if he's gonna keep those heads. That's a fairly mild cam still... I wouldn't bother with an rpm manifold unless you are going to do some head work.

We were cleaning up the yard yesterday and My young fella put all myTorque convertors in a pile and all the ring gears in a pile How amd I gonna be able to figure which one goes with which transmission ,,There are 2 700-4rs and 1 350

I know the one from the 450 trannie but mot sure which one goes with either 700r4 or does it matter .

I think you need to measure the hub. The OD for the 700R4 converter will measure 1.750 " or a little less, and the measurement for the hub on the TH350 converter will measure a little bit more- about 1.875". Here's where I got that info from-
