Hi all. My name is Joe and I live in a township called Battlefield, which is a suburb of Springfield. I own a 1986 Chevrolet Scottsdale K10 shortbed. Some of you know me from the other sites that I post on. I have been lurking here for a while and decided to join. There seems to be a lot of good info on here regarding this generation of GM truck. I especially enjoyed looking at the cab rust repair threads. These are very informative. ...Joe

Welcome to the Forums. I grew up in Springfield. My parents live there now, maybe the next time I go up to see them, I'll have to take the truck and we can find some places to go off-roading.

Welcome to the site Joe, thanks for joining!

Hey thanks for the welcome! Good to hear from a former resident of Springfield. Too bad that you don't live here now as another guy from one of the other sites and I are trying to start up a truck club for GM trucks. I tried to post up a pic and got an error message that my file size is too big. I'm computer illiterate and don't know how to resize, so I guess I just won't be able to post pics on this site. :( ...Joe

Thanks Chris! Great site! ...Joe

Joe, if you have MS paint, it will allow you to resize the picture to 600xXXX or 800xXXX. Just make sure you save it as a jpg as it can't be larger than about 92K...
-
Found the ms paint. Not sure what to do next though. Can't find a way to resize. Am I missing something here??? ??? ...Joe

Try to find a site like this: http://www.resize2mail.com/index.php (http://www.resize2mail.com/index.php)
That will walk you through the process, and even let you crop the photo.
Or use a site like Photobucket or Flickr to host the pic and use the "{img} {/img}" BB code tags (replace the "{" with "[") to put the file into the message.
-
Might be easier for a dummy like me to just post up a link to another website where I already have pictures of it at. ...Joe
-
Go to www.photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com) set up an account, upload the photos, and then under the photo you uploaded there will be four lines with link codes in them, copy the one that says "IMG Code" by clicking on it and then come back to this site and past it into your message. Simple as that. the pasted code will look like this: {IMG}http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n122/BlackWidow04/Truck/PA230172.jpg{/IMG} with the curly brackets { being replaced with the squared off ones [ so that you will see this:

looks good. ;D It's better looking than mine.

Hey thanks for the help on trying to resize my pictures guys. Maybe some day when I have more time I'll sit down and mess with it till I figure it out. Thanks for the compliment on my truck. It looks much better in pictures, trust me! Goy lots to do to it yet. Maybe some day I will make it a nice looking truck again. I like your truck too. I love the 73-87 4x4s! ...Joe

Well, i'm kind of a perfectionist so no car/truck is every really done in my opion there is always something else to do, and always new parts coming out for it. But with this truck it's gonna be a bit different since I want to use it for offraoding and I know it will get messed up...anyway, keep trying to figure out that image thing cause when you have a problem with something and a question to ask on here a picture always help, especially since most of us gearheads are visually oriented. Good luck with the truck.

Looks good and welcome - any snow yet?

Joe, you uploaded 2 pics in those posts. Did you not notice them? If you are thinking they are small just click on them, they will expand.
BTW: here is how to upload pics to the forum using MS paint:

That's exactly what I was thinking Chris. That they are too small. When I clicked on them, a window opened up and asked if I wanted to save to computer, or open the file. ??? ..Joe

did you click on the actual picture or on the link. The link with the name will ask you to save it, the picture will make it expand.
