I need a little help. I removed my Hyd Clutch res and I cant remember exactly where it gets placed on the firewall can some one please send me some picts? And some photos of a BBC Airconditioning bracket would help me out as well
Thanks

The reservior bolts to the booster mount.
What year/series BBC brackets are you looking for? An 85 1/2T didn't come with a 454?
-
85 chevy 1 ton 2 wd with 454 and Manual 4 speed tranny. A couple of years go I installed a set of 396 heads and for some reason I cut the bracket up to make some other things work but now I am reinstalling AC back into the truck

Here's the clutch on my 85

AC pics, real crowded with the dual airpumps and everything connected as it came out of the factory this way.

I figured how to do it. My KB #'s on my pics show higher than 128 but obviously OK here. Lookout now,...

What size engine is that? I cant tell if its a BBC or SBC
-
7.4L, the big boy. That is the emission set up for the 8600GVW trucks in 85 with that engine and a stick. It is very crowded under the hood.

Mine had a factory 454(7.4) as well. it a 1985 1 ton dually 2wd crew cab camper special. But my smog pump was origanaly located under the Alt. when I bought the truck I had all of the AC installed but shortly after I bought it I changed the factory Peanut port heads to a set of closed chamber 396 heads. But for some reason I decided to take the compressor off and I then modified the factory AC bracket ( what a dumb aXX)
I stripped the truck to the frame this summer, I installed bel tech drop spindles 4" in front and 4" in back. The engine was removed from my stepside it's a 454 bored .030 with pop up pistons and a rebuilt set of 781 casting heads, Should be around 10.0 to 1 check out my webshots website to see my progress.

1 tons have different emission numbers that are required by the feds, probably why you only have the one smog pump. Was yours always a stick? That makes a difference as well. Sounds like a neat project. If you need any other pictures just holler out. I will eventually make mine like new. Got too many other projects that come first. Have a great day.

Yes mine was a factory 4 speed and 4.56 gears :) the engine had never been out until I bought it . Since I have been a kid I always wanted a lowered dually. It's still functional I will be using it to pull my car trailer with my 77 stepside on that to the racetrack.

wow zieg, dual air pumps?! where was your truck originally sold?

Mo. or Illinois, I don't know what dealership my uncle ordered it through just before he retired from the GM assembly line down in St. Louis. No cats, true stainless steel dual exhaust from the factory still original on the truck. Standard emission set up for the 7.4L 4 speed for the 1985. With the 3.21 gear I get 14-15mpg with the tailgate off. I just pulled a truck on my car trailer back from St. Louis about 4 weeks ago and got 12.

that is AWESOME mileage for a 3/4 ton with a 454...looks like a nice truck, got any bigger pics of it?

nice! minus the rocker that truck looks to be in pretty good shape!

Thanks, looking for a rust free bed, then I'll get new rockers and cab corners before she goes completely. I fell in love with it when my uncle brought it home. He passed several years ago and my cousin called me up knowing I wanted it. Did some upgrades with a tilt wheel and a Lumina steering wheel. Put intermittent wipers on it and a AM-FM Mono radio. I only put about 2500 miles a year on it so it should last a really long time. 5th wheel hitch and class IV out back. It is really set up to pull. 131K on the clock.

wow, that's not bad mileage. my '83 is at 77k right now, but it has a crappy factory powertrain combo...305/700R4/2.73 gears :(
