Title: 250 Cold Start Question
Post by: 83C10OHIO on November 17, 2007, 02:23:42 pm
I have a 1983 C10 with the 250 six cyl. engine.

When I start the truck after sitting awhile, i press the pedal to the floor to set the choke and the truck allways starts right up but runs very rough and smokes some for as long as 2 min or so. Is this normal? Any Suggestions?

Thank You

I don't know what kind of choke you have (auto, electric) but it may be set too cold.  Meaning the butterfly will close when cold as it should, but takes more heat to open it up---it is too slow to open it sounds.
