hey everyone.
guess im just introducing myself.
my name is chris and im 25 from here in TN.
i own a 85 Custom Deluxe.
been in my family since it was new.
its a 4.3 v6 truck with the TH400 and a 2.73 rear.
motor was rebuilt also but just stock.
trans was built a while back and beefed up with a shift kit, 2000 stall and the governor changed.
i have another rear chunk with some 3.08 gears with a unit to replace the 2.73
its in process of a update and upgrade.
heres before and after pics of the outside update.

welcome aboard!  that's a really nice truck...that Th400 should last forever behind that V6.  how did it end up with a Th400 anyhow?  it should have had a 700R4 or if only a 3 speed a Th350 or 375...

thanks for the complement.
i know its weird. but its all factory. its even on the options sticker in the glove box
but it was built last year for the soon to be 355 swap.
only thing i was told is that it may have been possibly a military truck that never made it to the army.
it even has a 3 row radiator, the wide one thats factory.
ill post some more pics up later.

A lot of 4.3L's got backed with a TH400, not strange at all.

hmm...just seems kinda like overkill for a V6, ya know?  but i bet it made for one tough truck...post more pics when ya get a chance...i'd love to see more of it!

i have a 79 V8 donor truck getting the frame mounts out of.
the ones the motor mounts bolt to.
these will bolt into my truck correct?

nice truck!  i KNEW you were a Saturn guy when i saw your name!  as for the mounts...you shouldn't have to change your engine mounts.  the 4.3 uses the same mounts as the V8...so you should be fine...

Welcome - nice truck, love the color.

I also had a TH400 behind a 4.3 before I replaced it with a 350 crate motor.
