Title: Door panels
Post by: txtj79 on November 18, 2007, 08:13:08 pm
I'm trying to restore a 1980 C-10 Silverado.  The truck is all original and unmolested.  The original door panels are still there, but badly faded.  Is there a way to restore them?  I've seen mentioned somewhere that you can dye them back to original color.  Does anyone know anything about that process.  What's the best way to clean them up and prep them?

Thanks,

T.J.

I scuff mine with a scotch pad, then wash them with a mild prep solvent. When you buy the dye it will tell you what to use on the can. I do the prepsolve thing then when it dries I use what the dye recommends
