Title: 73 diffs on a 83

Hey all,
 
I am changing out my old 3.08 1/2 ton diffs on my 83
 and found a great deal on some 3/4 diffs (4.11) that are from a 73

will they bolt up or would I have to modify.
 I was thinking that chevy's are basically the same from 73 to 87 but I want to be sure before I shell out the cash.

Your bolt pattern will change as the 3/4T uses a 14bolt diff rear and a D44 front (8 lug) so you will need new wheels.   As for bolting up they will but you will either need the special u-joint or a new Driveshafts.
