Title: Trans crossmember and tail shaft location
Post by: gmiles on November 23, 2007, 01:32:28 pm
There are two holes in the trans crossmember where the mount goes. The trans (TH400) mount had one bolt in the center that was broken. Which hole do I use. I know engineers designed offset either at the engine or rear end to get rid of the harmonics/balance caused by a long rotating driveshaft. BUT, which hole does the trans mount go into (driver's side or passenger side)? The bottom of the frame rails are about 29" apart and neither hole is centered. The two holes are about 1 1/2" apart.

Thanks.

I think you might have the wrong mount. It should be in the center.

Yup. Wrong mount. I just picked up a new one and it has the two holes that match the cross member. What would I do without this board............... :'(
