hello everyone, newbe that needs a little help. there is a bracket mounted on the frame between the transmission linkage and the steering colum, it helps to keep the shifter in the right place i assume. the shifter is'nt working properly park is reverse, reverse is neutral and neutral is drive. it was working before but just recently i notice that the bracket was broken and if i can fix this right away maybe it will solve my problem. so if anyone can help me and let me know where to get one i would really appreciate it. i've been to different web sites and also checked my truck magazine but have no luck finding it, i don't even know what it's called. thank you and hope to here from someone soon.
ps will be posting pics of my truck soon it's a swb 75 chevy truck w/350 and an 84 front clip.

Look at the wreckers. They should all be the same 73 - 87.

I agree, check the local salvage yards.

How about welding the bracket to fix it? Is it the bracket that the shift linkage is connected to - accross from the transmission - the one with the plastic washer and spring?
-
hey jj i think so, i will check tommorow and make sure. but there is another thing where can i get the spring and rubber washer for this part. or is there somewhere i can get new. thanks for the input

I agree with welding it. As far as the bushing inside there a nylon oil drain plug gasket and a grommet works mint. :P

Nylon gasket, or if you happen to have one laying around and the time to grind it, an old crankshaft pilot bushing.
