Post by: trux4toyz on December 08, 2007, 01:11:04 pm
can anyone point me in the right direction for finding instructions for removing dash pad on my `78 Blazer.

also, any recommendations on sources for good quality dash pads?  or warnings of who to avoid?

My opinion, get a factory style dash pad. Ask Chris here if he sells them. They're still available 81 up from GM

Take the dash bezel screws out and then there are a few screws near the glove box. Then lift up and towards you. If you have AC the duct vent hose needs to be disconnected behind the glove box.

Ditto the advice to buy one from this site. Pay a little more and get a better built dash.
when you lift it up and pull, you are releasing four retaining clips. Then you have to turn it to make room to take it out. I brought out the left side first. I thought it was kind of a struggle, but that's probably just me. Don't forget the wires going to the speakers.

I don't have the complete dashes for the 73-80 version.  Cheyenne Pickup is who you want to get one from though.  I am trying to get some from them, they are supposedly just like the factory versions.
