Title: 76 Silverado Cargo Lamp Wiring?
Post by: txtj79 on December 16, 2007, 03:02:59 pm
Does anyone know where on the fuseblock I should wire the cargo lamp?  The truck was not orinally equipped with one...if that matters.

Thanks,

T.J.

i think the cargo light plugs into the dome lamp wiring. into the plug that sits behind the drivers side rear speaker. the harness runs up the side of the truck and the switch mounts above the seatbelt.

If you are wiring it up yourself just put it to either an always hot position or ignition switched depending on how you want it to work. I liked having the ability to turn it on without the interior lights.

thats definitly the easiest way to do it. sometimes i get so stuck on keeping things stock that i don't even think about the simple ways of doing things.

Yeah, I think that's the best way to do it, Vile.  I have an 1980 that I'm trying to keep perfectly stock.  The 76 is my dad's that he has had since it was brand new.....he has rewired redone so many things it it that it hardly qualifies as a "chevy" anymore.  Thanks for the tips guys.
