i'm used to gettin them closer to the ground, so i'm gonna need your guys' help on this one...
my dad is looking to lift his '84 c20 2x (454), and i've decided to buy the parts as a xmas present. for the rear, are 3" blocks sufficient? as for the front, to level it out it'd need 5"...would lift coils and spacers be a good idea, or should i shell out the money for something like spindles and coils? thanks for any help!
ps: if anyone has any pics of their 2x with about 2-4" of lift, post up!

2" lift blocks in the back and the wrong springs on the front. 30.5" tires.

well, you can get a 2" lift from Rough Country for $509. sadly, that's one thing the F*rd boys have on us, we can't get much lift out of our older 2wds simply because of our suspension design...ours just rides/handles a lot better...

You're truck looks awesome. It seems to have the stance of a 4x4. What springs did you use for the front? BTW, that truck reminds me of my '73- it is also yellow. Does yours happen to be 'Sunset Gold' ?

Thanks.
The springs for the front were a screw up. I ordered the regular duty springs and they packed something else into the box so I don't know what they are. They have the same thickness as the HD springs, but I won't say for sure that's what they are.
The color is as close to a Boss Mustang as I could get. I was flipping thru a book at the paint store and seen a picture of the car and had to have it. I've got the code for it somewhere...

I realize this thread is a bit dated, but thought I would reply anyways.
With a 454 the average lift spings may not lift as much as advertised. I used stock HD coils on my 82 c10 and gained about 1.5-2", enough to level the truck out. You can add a coil spacer and some lift coils but the front will max out on down travel due to the front end design.
Unfortunately lift spindles are not available for the 73-87s, they used to be from AIM, but they stopped making them some time back and I have never heard anything good about AIM.

FabTech makes a-arms that lift it 3 inches. I am modifying some for my wifes 3/4 ton. I know it is the wrong year model but Here is her driver it is 2 wheel drive w/ 8 inch fabtech lift. handles better lifted than it did stock

Fabtech only has spring lifts for these now.
-
Darn, I wanted one more set of the a-arms. And I need to correct my previuos post. It is a 6 inch lift not 8 inch. Fat fingers got in the way. Are the springs still 3 inch lift

think so..
