Title: It's a sad day....
Post by: VileZambonie on December 30, 2004, 11:45:00 am
But I think I'm gonna have to sell some of my trucks. My wife is starting to really make this divorce difficult and I think I'm just going to have to sell these trucks.... Don't ever get married....:(

That stinks Vile.  I hate to hear that.  Are you going to try and keep at least one of them.  Remember, even though you sell it, you are always welcome here.  Want me to buy both for $50 apiece and then sell them back to you after the settlement? :D

If I can get away with it I will keep all of them. I have my 85 K20 that I'm restoring now and my 88 v10(k5) Blazer too. So I have four of them. The 75 K5 and the 74 GMC are my faves the GMC being the best. I've had that truck since I was 18 and I'm gonna be 30! I just can't believe how horrible some women can be...Let me tell you she was THE best woman on earth and then one day she flipped like a light switch and once you're married you put your whole life in someone elses hands....NEVER AGAIN!!!

That sucks Vile, but like Chris suggested, sell him the trucks for cheap and buy them back for the same price when everything is finalized.  :)

You were going to sell them back for the same price right Chris?!  :lol

Title: blue book value
Post by: Lt.Del on December 30, 2004, 11:57:00 pm
Go to your bank or credit union after you get the value (blue book value of course).  Take out a loan for half the amount of the trucks.  Or go to a good friend w/ $$$ and get the loan for half.  Then have the money ready to hand over to her (subtract half of the value of her car from the total!!!).  If you are selling/dividing the value of you house, use refinance the equity in your house and give her half the value of the trucks.  Maybe she'll be happy if you just give her one of the trucks.   There is always a way, just be creative!

Tell her the trucks are yours, not hers and they are off limits.  Plus, what would happen to the truck if she had one... or worse, all of them?  I do like the sale and buyback through roundedline very well.

Were you able to keep the K20 and the V10?

Yes I still have those too! The 88 is going in the body shop next week for a new paint job and as soon as I'm done putting the fuel injection system in the K20 that one is getting a new paint job too so I'll be running strong again! I paid her off just to get the monkey off my back so to speak...

well i'm glad you got to keep 3 of the trucks and that it's all over.

Title: Run her over!
Post by: Vel454 on February 25, 2005, 09:21:00 am
Go ahead... give her one of the rigs - run her over with the giggered thing! lol Nah... seriously though, as stated before, go ahead and try selling it to a close friend you can trust for cheap, split the money up, and then buy it back a lil' while later. Sounds like a good idea to me.
