Title: Header Install
Post by: qboy on December 26, 2007, 11:50:43 pm
Anything unusual to watch out for putting on the headers?    Got some Hooker long tube headers.

Also, putting on a new Edelbrock carb  http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=EDL%2D1406&view=1&N=700+

Think I feel much difference in power?

I have both of those items on the 383. The headers were from the original (previous) owner, and i have no complaints. The carb I did myself, and after changing metering rods (a 5 minute job) to richen it up, it runs pretty good.

I would get the headers coated...

You might want to invest in the carb meter/jet kit along with a good inline filter. You may also have to fabricate or get a new throttle cable and tv cable bracket. The port for your brake booster doesn't come with a fitting either.
