We got our test model of the Silverado Kick panels with speaker pods today. Once we get them tested and ready you should see them in the catalog soon. They are designed to mount in the recessed area of the original panels. Take a look and let me know what you think.

-

-
I wish I waited and bought those ones :-\
-
They haven't gotten me a price yet, but I feel they will be inline with the standard ones. We have another project in the works also so keep you eyes open...
-
I have the perfect test vehicle... lol.

I've got the silverado kick panels and wondered how to put a speaker pod in them and thats exactly how I wanted to do it , in the recessed area can't wait. Now I don't have to try to make them. Any ideas on trying to put in a tweeter also. Thanks.
-
There is a slight adjustment that will need to be made on the floor side of the setup for pass and drvr side and a little more clearance on the e-brake setup and it should be ok. I don't know if I will add a tweeter immediately, but I can work on it. I am sure if I can mock it up I can get one done, just trying to get this part finished...

Very interested! Was just thinking of placing for some speakers while putting my kick panels back on this past weekend. I will stay tuned.
what size speakers are expected to fit?
Thanx
-
They are like our current offering and will hold a 6.5" speaker.
-
Chris, I looked up the ones you were talking about in the catalog. Are these going to be part of the kick panel like those in the catalog oppose to an insert where we use our existing panel?
Thanx

The ones we are making now are going to insert into the recessed area so they can be removed if you so choose. The original ones in the catalog utilized the factory ones also. Is that what you are asking?
-
Chris, Yes that is what I was asking, thank you. It looked like the ones in the catalog were complete replacement kick panels with the speaker built in, oppose to a removable speaker/pod insert. The insert pod using our existing panels seems more logical (cheaper too).
Thanx-

The ones in the catalog now are a complete lower section for non-Silverado trucks which only have the upper portion.
-
I had to look at my plain jane c20 and did not relize until now that they dont really have a kick panel like the silverado at all, just the vent. It makes a little more sense now.
I'll stay tuned.

What's the progress on these little puppies? I still don't see them in the catalog. Just so you know, you'll definitely sell at least one pair when they are finally released. Much more cost effective than the over-rated Q-logics.
-
I worked on the test version this weekend so they would fit and got them working. Now just gotta send them back for molding the new ones..
-
Ok, I finally got the last iteration of these in. They will require some trimming around the lip in some areas to fit perfectly. They should be in the catalog by this weekend. They are currently changing all of the pricing for all products so they will be set at $89.
-
Do the driver and passenger kick panels perfectly mirror each other in terms of speaker orientation (firing angle)? They look slightly dissimilar. But it may just be the angle of the pics.
-
how much room do these take up? maybe a pic from the drivers position looking down at them would help, I may try a set, but I think my dad(6foot, 6inches) ever drove it, he would knock a hole in my speaker when he got out! ;D lol thanks
-
Well there was supposed to be a pic like that...
-
They are very close It is possible the Ebrake lever clearance on the drivers side makes it look different.
-
hmm, i might have to consider these when i upgrade my interior to Sierra Classic/SLE trim...

OK now I see that flat spot to clear the sweep of the ebrake on the driver's side. Optical illusion.
BTW I still like them better than the Q-logics. They look more factory and based on the last pic are less invasive. And I've gotta B-day around the corner. ;)
