Title: wider rear
Post by: mmusmanno on January 11, 2008, 05:36:09 pm
has anyone put in a wider stance rear in an 81-87 k10?  I hate how the front wheels are wider than the back, I know I can bolt spacers to the drums and then bolt the wheels to them, but, i'm looking to get a rebuilt rear anyway at somepoint and thought if I can replace it with a different year or different model axle, maybe one that is wider, it would make it worthwhile.  so, any suggestions/thoughts on this?  my truck is an '83 k10 4wd.  thanks.  mike

They are designed this way to aid in turning.  There is no benefit to doing this other than looks.  Just get a different offset rim for the rear, of course then you can rotate your tires.
